Fowlie, Betty Josephine Caroline (nee Bedor)

 

On August 21, 2018, Betty Fowlie passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones. 

Betty touched the lives of many with her generous nature and practical wisdom. She raised four children and a beloved nephew whom she loved with every fibre of her being: Steven Gault (Beverly), Diane Gault (Nick), Tara Tedford (Tim), Tammy Edwards (John), and Adam Bedor (Breanna). Betty was preceded in death by her husband James Fowlie, her parents Earl & Winnifred Bedor and her sister Pauline. She was affectionately known as “Nana-Bear” to her grandchildren and she will be dearly missed by them: Kimber, Johnathan (Trinity), Kyle, Gregory, Landon, Elizabeth, Grace, Declan, Emma & Oliver. Betty was a proud member of the Smiths Falls Civitan Club for many years and believed in giving back to her community.

 

A Celebration of Life is being held at the Smiths Falls Civitan Club on Sunday August 26th 2018 from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Betty as asked that people donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters or to the Smiths Falls Public Library’s Summer Literacy Program. Betty would also like people to consider doing a random act of kindness for someone. The ripple effect of small acts of kindness can be widespread.
