Please accept my sincere sympathies upon hearing of your mother's passing. Your mother was a kind and generous lady. She and your father welcomed my parents with open arms when they first arrived in Canada in the early '50's. The church was a social hub for gathering and singing together. I can easily recall the songs of the quartet and the laughter created by the mispronunciation caused by the language barrier.
Your parents enveloped the Boomhouwer family with love, including us in your already busy family life. Mrs. Willows' homemade bread and hand churned butter were always on the table. I'm convinced that the connections made in association with all of you convinced my parents that they had made a great decision to move to Canada. I have recalled so many memories these last few days and they are all so good and heart warming.
Your mother's legacy is one of love and kindness to all.
I wish you peace as the next few days pass by. I'm sending my love to you.
Most sincerely, Linda and also John.
