HERMER, Douglas John

Of Smiths Falls, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital in Perth, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was 67 years of age. Doug, loving husband of Judy for over 46 years. Son of the late Clarence and Ila Hermer. Cherished father to Jason (Jamie-Lynn), and Laura (Brandon) Shilson. Devoted Pa to Max, Kate, Travis, and Sam. Loving brother of Joan (Cal) Brake, Anne (Kirk) Perry, Keith (Cheryl), Dan (Wanda), Gary (Dawn), Daryl (Christina), and Dale (Jennifer). Doug will also be lovingly remembered by his dear uncle Arnold (Penny), and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends may call at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 17 Elmsley Street North, Smiths Falls on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11 AM. Interment at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery following the service. A reception celebrating Doug's life will be held at Hanley Hall, Smiths Falls, following the Interment.
