Uncle Jim, it’s hard to believe you’ve left us. Being my only uncle for over 40 years, I found it so hard to say goodbye yesterday. So many of my childhood memories include you, and they’ve all come rushing back to me this last week. From hazy mornings at the lake where you would bring home fresh fish for breakfast, to DQ car accidents that us kids just lived for. You always made sure everyone felt welcome and safe and happy. Your presence will be missed beyond words. Our one comfort is knowing that you are back with nanny and poppy and great nanny, and I’m sure you’re enjoying some of that miraculous fudge only your Mum could make. Give them all a big hug for me and tell them I miss them too.
Until we meet again ♥️
-Lots of love from Angela, Corri, Kyelar, and Tavish xo

Dearest June and family,
So sorry to hear of Jim's passing, Jim was a wonderful man, a good friend to so many and could lift your spirits with his radiant smile and hearty laugh. He was gracious, kind and definitely a gentleman.
God looked around his garden
and found an empty space
Then He looked down upon this earth
and saw Jim's tired face.
He put his arms around him
And lifted him to rest
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the very best.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

My Deepest Condolences , to the family and friends of Jim Pevere .
From London On 1961 , ( basic training RCR Depot ) to 1 RCR Ipperwash , thence to Fort York ( Soest ) West Germany , marching through Holland ( Nijmegen Marches ) , until Jim left the service for greener pastures in 1964 , I had the honour to serve with Jim . Reconnected with Jim , in Petawawa 1980 . Lost touch until I met up with Jim again , in Brockville in 2002 . Jim was a stalwart member of The RCR Association ( 1000 ) Islands Branch in Brockville , where I was a member also . Life won't be the same without Jim !
Here is a little poem , to honour the memory of my good friend Jim .
" A LITTLE STEP AWAY "
TO CLOSE THE EYE , TO FALL ASLEEP ,
TO DRAW A LABOURED BREATH .
TO FIND RELEASE FROM DAILY CARES ,
IN WHAT WE KNOW AS DEATH -
IS THIS THE CROWNING OF LIFE
THE AIM OR END THEREOF ?
THE TOTALLED SUM OF CONSCIOUSNESS
THE RIPENED FRUIT OF LOVE ?
IT CANNOT BE , FOR WORKS OF GOD
ARE WROUGHT FOR NOBLER ENDS ,
AND THOSE AWAY CONTINUE ON
IN THE HEARTS OF KIN AND FRIENDS
IT CANNOT BE , FOR THEY LIVE ON
A LITTLE STEP AWAY , THE SOUL ,
THE EVERLASTING LIFE ,
HAS FOUND A BETTER DAY .
PRO PATRIA JIM !

Another Community Champion in So Many Ways. Jim Pevere was a Mentor, a Friend, and a Community Legend to Me, and So Many Others. He was Outstanding at his Career, and Equally Outstanding as a Friend, Husband, Father, Grandfather. He Taught Me the Importance of Friendship, Community, and Passion for Others. Jim Pevere could LIGHT UP A ROOM, as soon as He opened the Door. He was a Very Giving Man, with a Constant Desire to Make Others Happy. I have many Fond Memories of the Time I spent with Jim over the Years, and I am Truly Greatful that I was Fortunate enough to be in his Company over the Longtime Friendship I had with him. My Heart is Heavy but I know You are at Peace. My Sincere Condolences to June, Toni, Kathy, Jason, and Families. Thank You for allowing Me to Spend Time with such a Great Guy. I am So Sorry for Your Loss.
REST WELL My Friend Jim Pevere, Your Smile, Your Personality, Your Caring and Giving Ways, and Your Love for People will Never Be Forgotten, and will Live On in the Lives of All Of Us!!! Thanks for Being My Friend and Showing Me The Way. I will always have You in My Heart. YOU will always be a CHAMPION!!

No words can express how Denis and I feel at this time, so many emotions.
What a man - he can never be replaced in this community or in anyone's heart. That smile of his, the powerful handshake, the kind words that he had for everyone, the odd little peck on the cheek!
What a man - what else can we say.
Be proud of him because he was so proud of all of you.
He will forever be missed. May the angels up above have Ketchup at their dinner table.
