Obituary of Gordon Everal Campbell

Gordon Everal Campbell, March 19, 1932 - December 14, 2019

 

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gordon Campbell of Smiths Falls, Ontario on December 14, 2019 at the age of 87.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Campbell. Children, Laurie (Francis) of Nova Scotia, Judy (Dave) of Alberta. Grandchildren, Amanda and Shaun of Alberta. Also mourning his loss are extended family members and numerous dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents Hazel and Ken Campbell; Son Roy and granddaughter Serena, Sister Ruth Smith brothers, Ray, Gerry and Ron Campbell.

Gordon was a wonderful, loving Husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was born in Ottawa and met his loving wife in Nova Scotia. He loved watching sports and playing golf and card games with friends. He retired after service in the Navy as well as 32 years of government service and enjoyed being a snowbird with his wife for 34 years. A life well lived, good times shared and laughter throughout the years. His gentle kindness, wisdom, humour and great stories will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Thank you to Dr. Peter Cunniffe, Broadview Lodge, Bayshore and St. Elizabeth for all their kindness and care. A big thank you to his niece Joanie for always being there for him. The immediate family appreciates it so much as we often could not be there. Special thanks to Cherie Larmour you were his rock.

There will be no memorial service at this time as per Gordon’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one’s choice. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.lannin.ca
