When we were officers in Smith’s Falls we got to know Reta and work along side of her. We may not have always agreed on issues but we had no doubt she cared deeply for her Lord and we are sure she is now rejoicing in His presence. She had a long life and we are sure she will be missed by many. May the family know the peace and comfort of God in these days. Majors Faith & Malcolm Cameron

To the Friends and Family of Reta Hawe
There are people that you meet in life that really make a huge impact; Reta Hawe was one of these people. 22 years ago as young officers in The Salvation Army we moved to Smiths Falls from Newfoundland. It was our first appointment of the island and we really didn’t know what to expect.
One of the first people we met at the Corps was Reta, she was a huge support as we adapted to our new appointment and surroundings. We spent a lot of time at the church with her being the Corps Treasurer and we spent time together outside of work either at her home or at our favorite restaurant-Man lings. She welcomed us, along with our two daughters; Jennifer and Janelle who loved her. They enjoyed her story telling and the love and support she always showed them. When they were really young they thought that the stories she told were made up, but when they got older they realized that they were stories from her childhood.
Reta was a very dedicated follower of Jesus and a great prayer warrior; we always knew she was praying for us then and long after we left Smiths Falls. She sent many cards of encouragement over the years and we enjoyed her many phone calls. She even came to visit us once in NL.
The last time we saw her was in the summer of 2018 and we got to share a visit with her. It was hard to see her in that situation, because she was always a very private and independent lady. But she was just waiting for God to call her home. Now her request has been granted and she is in the presence of her Lord, whom she loved and for that we are very happy. Yet we are sad that one of our good friends is gone from us and we will miss her. Servant of God well done, enter into the joys of thy Lord! We look forward to seeing her again, when we get to Heaven.
To her family and friends we share in your loss, and we pray that God will bless you with His comfort and presence in these days. Jennifer & Janelle join us in sending our thoughts and prayers your way. May God richly bless you all!!!

Dear family
To my friend Madeline , Adrienne , Robin, Ann, Karl and all of Reta’s family and friends I extend my deepest sympathy to you all.
Reta was a good , kind neighbour for many years and when she moved her porch light not on left a void in the neighbourhood.
Reta was a good Christian lady who carried her faith in how she lived. I know that she is happy to be reunited with her Lord and her beloved Albert .
Again my sincere sympathy to you all.
