Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on January 15, 2015, in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 64. Barb is survived by her loving family; husband Lynden Goodfellow, her daughters Kate Azar (Szemborn), Emily Shahidi (Amir), sister Beth Guindon (Gerry) and brother Doug Patterson (Bernice). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Nickolas and Rebecca Azar, her nieces and nephew, Valerie, Peter and Lauren and her beloved dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Doris Patterson. Barbara was born on June 10, 1950, and lived in Cornwall, Ontario. She moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University, and was a long time employee of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Canadian Guide Dogs.
