To Enid's Family.
I very sorry for your loss. Enid was a lovely lady and always had a smile on her face whenever I would meet her , usually at Independent Grocery store in Smith's Falls. I enjoyed many times going to the Wednesday craft group with my grandmother and visiting with all the weekly women, catching up and having tea/lunch. My grandmother will miss Enid very much as she knew her for many years. Enid will be missed .. Laurie McDougall

If all the world is a stage of life on which we all play many roles Enid Yvonne (Barrington) Brown played her's extremely well. She was an industrious and supportive, wife, mother and family member. She coped with many ill timed deaths of her father, husband and both brothers and, tragically'her first born son' at an early age.Enid soldiered on through life, the sole surviving member of her birth family, to care for her mother in her final years. She was a dedicated teacher who served in several capacities as teacher, special education consultant, teacher of the most exceptional students in Ontario's Exceptional Demonstration Centre, contributed to activities of The Council for Exceptional Children and Youth and lectured in Special Education, at the Faculty of Education, at the University of Ottawa. She obtained both her BA and M Ed degrees from that University but took her teacher training in Toronto..She loved to read and travel and visited over twenty five countries on several continents during her life ,some more than once! Enid would gladly learn and gladly teach and continued to tutor students encountering learning challenges and volunteer in her daughter's classroom after retirement. She was very supportive in my teen age years and encouraged me to enter teaching and was a supportive friend to my wife Betty and our son's, who grew up with her children, at their home and cottage.Enid may be gone from this life but she left a legacy, of which family and friends can be proud, and she will be fondly remembered. James A. Brown and Betty J. Brown
