The news of Barb's unexpected passing is deeply shocking and heartbreaking. She was such an amazing woman. She had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. She had strong morals and convictions and had no qualms when it came to vocalizing and defending her beliefs. Barb had a relentless zest for life and did not let the bad times affect her love for life. Family was extremely important to Barb. Her Facebook page has numerous family photos highlighting weddings, anniversaries, and holiday gatherings. However, it was her love and pride and absolute devotion to Kayley and Curtis that played the greatest factor in defining the woman she was. I know the coming days and months are going to be sad and emotional, especially for Kayley and Curtis. Please believe that your mom is always with you and watching over you. Let her love for you and her love for life be your guiding light and healing spirit.
My deepest sympathies go out to your entire family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Loved my chats with Barb . She was so open minded and refreshing. She certainly loved her family . I was just going to message her that there was a nice fellow I always noticed over the years so polite opening the door for my kids and I at grocery store , offering a seat to elderly at optometrist—just realized by a recent picture from Barb that it was her brother . Not a suprise . Very sad to hear the news . Rip to a nice lady and a friend to many . Ox Gina Brouwer Brady

Was so happy to be able to visit with Barb at our friend's 60th birthday on July 6, 2019. We had such an amazing visit. It had been about 10 years since we seen each other. We worked together at H & R Block back in the early 90's. She was an amazing person and friend. Did not always have to talk however when we did it was like we saw each other every day. Sympathies to her family. She was very proud of her children and will be always with them. May you Rest in Peace Barb, you will be missed by so many and we will keep fighting for Confederation Bridge in smiths falls.

I was so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. She was one of the first people to make me feel welcome as a new community member and a new theatre parent. She always had a smile, we could chat about most anything and we could agree to disagree with full respect for each other.
To see her connection with Kayley touched my heart. There was no doubt her pride and love for her.
Our community has had a huge loss and her family even more so.
To the family please know my heart is with you all. Sending hugs.
