It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Melvyn DeLisle. Peacefully at the Smiths Falls & District Hospital on December 22, 2020 at the age of 82 with his loving wife, Lois by his side. Paul is survived by his wife Lois (Flinn) DeLisle, sons Stephen (Barb) DeLisle and David Forsythe and daughter Connie (Glenn) Embleton. He adored his grandchildren Jessica (Justin) Fentiman, Adam (Melanie) DeLisle, Amy Forsythe, Jeremy Embleton (Wendy Nolan), Stephanie (Jason) Cragg, Katie (Colin) Austin, Joel (Caitlin) Embleton, Rebekah Embleton, Ben Embleton (Taylor Peters), Caleb Embleton, Hannah Embleton (Craig Thomas), Josiah Embleton and his great-grandchildren Sativah Zahab, Silas and Colt Fentiman, Sophie DeLisle, Damian Embleton, Damon Osborne, Emerson Cragg, Mallory Nicholson, Maia and Macy Embleton. Brother to Joann (Wilf) Hall and Bob (Elaine) DeLisle. Predeceased by his parents, Leo and Nora (Healey) DeLisle and his sister and brother in-law Anita and Jim Traynor. Paul will be sadly missed by all his nieces, nephews, friends and former co-workers at the Rideau Regional Centre, Smiths Falls. Paul was known as the “Happy Hooligan” and for brandishing all his young family members with nicknames. He made his grandchildren and great-grandchildren personalized wooden treasure chests that they will cherish along with their nicknames forever. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the caring staff at both the Perth and Smiths Falls hospital sites as well as Kingston General Hospital for the care and support provided to Paul. A graveside service will be held in the spring and announced at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Paul to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls.
