I am very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We lived next to Jim's for the past 30 years. I saw Gus posted for adoption online at LAWS and called Jim and told him to go right away to adopt Gus because I knew Jim was looking for a white poodle. I was so happy that Gus got such a great home with Jim. It is very special that you are collecting donations for LAWS. I used to organize fundraisers for LAWS (the dog-walk-a-thon). Sincerest condolences to the family.
Sincerely, Dorie Major

Six degrees of separation: We live down the road from Jim. I made a Home Visit to his Mom years ago when her Case Manager was unable to make the visit. Jim was well known at the Rideau Ferry store where my husband worked. One Valentine's Day we found a dog outside our door frozen into the snow. I thought it was my Valentine's Day present. Due to the weather the Animal Control Officer was unable to come from Kingston. As soon as we were able, I took Gus Gus to LAWS to scan for a chip and they would not let me take him home. He needed some dental work. Wouldn't you believe it when it was Jim who adopted Gus, the name shortened, and they were great friends. Rest In Peace, Jim. I know you and Gus will be reunited in heaven! Fondly, Christine and Joe Love.

Hi this is Bill Montgomery a former neighbor of Jim's. I visited him a number of times & assisted when I could. He suffered from some medical issues as long as I knew him. In our talks it was clear he never feared death if it came his way. The medical hurt is gone now & Jim's in a better place & so is Gus.

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing.
Jim and Jack attended every train show in the area. Having lunch and talking about trains before returning to the lake. We remember Jim and Gus keeping each other company.
Jim will always be remembered by the Walker family.
Our deepest sympathy
