CROSSMAN, Robert "Bob" Byron - Of Smiths Falls, Ontario passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family after a short but very courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his wife Shirley Crossman (née Burke). Cherished father to son Ian Robert (Sharon) Crossman, daughter Janet Heather (Brock) Kalef. Grandfather to Megan Kalef, Ethan Kalef, and Rowan Crossman and great-grandfather to Avrick. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Dorothy Crossman. Survived by his siblings Carol (late Al) Bernard, Jon (Vera) Crossman, Brion (Wendy) Crossman and sister in law Joan (Nelson) Keirstead. Missed dearly by his recent partner Francine. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bob was employed by Robb Engineering in Amherst, Nova Scotia for 37 years and retired in 1993. He and Shirley spent winters in Panama City Beach, Florida where they made many lifelong friendships. He was an avid golfer, a car enthusiast and was well known for giving the best hugs. They moved from New Brunswick to Smiths Falls to be closer to their grandchildren in 2004. An Interment and a Celebration of Life will take place at Sackville Rural Cemetery in New Brunswick at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations in Bob's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home.
