Obituary of Linda Jane Hughes

Hughes, Linda Jane Linda passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls District Hospital on March 02, 2021. Linda Jane Hughes (Cavanaugh) was 78 years of age. Predeceased by her beloved husband Wayne Hughes. Loved, respected and cherished mother of the late Kenneth, Trisha and Scott Kelford. Cherished and very proud grandmother of Jeremy Hughes, Kierstin (Nick Cormier), and Colten Kelford. Dear sister to George (Kay) Graves of Smiths Falls. Linda retired from the Rideau Regional Centre after 25 Years. Throughout her life she travelled extensively, wintered in Florida, volunteered and was a woman that truly enjoyed the game Bingo. The last year of Linda's life she resided at Van Horne Retirement Residence in Smiths Falls. There she made many new friends, staff included, and also reconnected with old friends. I would like to thank all of the staff at Van Horne for their care, phone calls, extra meals, empathy and compassion in Linda's final 3 months. We are forever grateful. I would also like to thank Dr. Brian Penney for his care, support, kind words, and just always being there. Dr. Megan Argue, you deserve a thank you as well. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be held privately for the family. Those wishing to honour Linda's memory are asked to consider the Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
