What I remember most about Hal (Mr. Haycock) growing up is how he was at all his son's basketball games, just like my Dad, always relaxed with a smile on his face. And when I would hang out with Jason and come by his house he was always welcoming and in good humour.
That dedication to others and happy spirit is something that can never be replaced but can be passed on others, which I know it has been. May all his great memories help you in the days, weeks, and years to come Wendy (Mrs. Haycock), Jason, and Jenn. Please take care and be well, I'm sure that is what he would have wanted.

Dear Wendy and family,
My deepest condolences to you all on your loss. I did not personally know Hal but, after reading this amazing tribute, I feel like he and I would have been good friends. He lives on in your memories and the stories you tell each other about him. And he lives on in the faces of his children and grandchildren and in the generations to come. What a wonderful legacy!

Dear Wendy, I am truly sorry to hear about Hal’s passing. In the few times that I met him, I remember him as being a calm, gentle and kind man. It is clear that you loved each other very much and that Hal was a beloved member of your entire family. I remember meeting Jennifer almost 40 years ago when she began dating Kevin. I was so happy for them both. You and Hal raised an incredibly kind and loving daughter who is such an important part of the Callaghan clan, too. My heart goes out to you, Wendy, as such a joyful person, who is now grieving. Big, big hugs to Jennifer and Kevin, Luke, Justin and Jessica, who must miss him terribly, as well as, Jason, and his family. Be well and know that time will heal. With much love, Erin

One clear memory with Hal, was a phone call that I made to speak to my sister, Wendy, when they had just been posted to Calgary, AB. I had won a 5-Pin bowling tournament in Vancouver, B.C. and I was going to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the following November. The trip was for two, and I was calling Wendy to see if she would like to go with me. Hal answered the phone; it was Tuesday evening, and Wendy was singing with her Sweet Adelines Chorus. I told him why I was calling, and he said to me that if Wendy decided not to go with me, he would! That was Hal! I love him and I always will. ♥
