Obituary of Margaret Evelyn McDonnell

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts the family of Margaret McDonnell announces her passing on April 10, 2021, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Margaret was the heart and soul of her family, leaving her loving husband of 68 years, Torrence McDonnell, her daughter Debra Churchill (Garry) and her son Terry McDonnell (Beverley), her granddaughters Aimee Churchill and Katie Churchill (Nicholas) and her grandsons Ryan McDonnell (Sarah) and Shaun McDonnell (Kerri), and six loving great grandchildren Kayla McDonnell, Olivia McDonnell, Roy McDonnell, Cohen McDonnell, Elliott Jin, and Addison Jin. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Inez Trombley, Robert’s second wife, Mary; and her sister Shirley Kingston and brother in law Tom Kingston. Sister in law to Mae and Jack Weldon, and the late Robert and Dorothy McDonnell. Aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. After working for many years and retirement from the Rideau Regional Center, Margaret devoted her life to her husband, her family, contributing to her Church, and keeping the men and books straight for the family business, Tor Mac Tree Service. We will forever remember and miss her warm smile, her sincere hugs, her wonderful cooking and especially her eggnog pie at Christmas. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the ICUs of the Queensway Carleton and Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospitals (Smiths Falls) for the dedicated and compassionate care. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions a graveside service will take place at a later date. For those who wish to honour Margaret’s memory, donations to Heart and Stroke, or the St. Andrews United Church Cemetery, Toledo, (Please put "Cemetery" in the memo portion of the cheque), would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home. Online condolences available at www.lannin.ca
