Obituary of Keith Bryan Goodberry

Keith Goodberry September 14, 1955 – April 19, 2021 Keith Bryan Goodberry entered into the loving presence of God because of his faith in Jesus on April 19, 2021. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Diane (nee Osborne), and cherished daughter, Kalisha, his dear mother Fay Goodberry and beloved sister Darlene Anderson (Glenn). He was the loving uncle of Shannon, Kyla, Corey, Cam, Jamie Anderson, Chris, Jamie Craig, Rebecca, Joshua, Matthew, Marnie, and Erin. He loved being a great uncle to many nieces and nephews, and most recently, a very proud great-great uncle to Novah through Michael Bowes (Hannah). Keith was predeceased by his father, Cam Goodberry, and his brothers Bradley, Garry, and Dale and stepfather, Jack Easton. Keith was dearly loved by a large extended family and too many friends to count; we wish we could name them all. Keith worked for Univar Canada in Toronto for 30 years, starting in the warehouse, and moving into the office as a buyer. He was very dedicated to his job and became a valuable member of the team. He was loved by his colleagues who were entertained by his comic relief and serenades of real and made-up songs which we were also graced with at home. Keith was a proud father to Kalisha. He adored her with his whole being and admired the strong woman she has become. He loved to tell people about her work with those facing mental health and addiction challenges and recognized that she carried on a long family legacy of helping others. Keith loved his wife, Diane. They were best friends. They loved to invite people into their home and bless them. Many times, they had young adults stay with them who needed some love and care. They were his extra “kids.” Keith and Diane enjoyed their lives in Keith’s hometown, Smiths Falls, where they moved from Toronto 4 years ago. Helping his mother, Fay, and spending time with his family and friends made him happy. Keith was passionate about Christmas, with 15 bins of decorations that seemed to grow yearly. He loved gardening; there was always just one more plant or flower to be purchased when the gardens were full. Keith’s love for politics was very evident on Facebook. He was daring in his discourse and would let everyone know what he thought. When he was still unresponsive at the Ottawa Civic, we even considered telling him we were cancelling Fox News to make him wake up! Keith loved Jesus and Jesus loved Keith. He was passionate about God’s grace in his life. God was with him through challenging and joyous times. He loved to sing and play old hymns on the piano – never had a lesson but played beautifully from his soul. His recent anthem was a song by Josh Baldwin called Evidence, often singing the words that brought him tears, “I see the evidence of your goodness all over my life.” Keith loved people. He brought a smile to your face just with a hello. He actively looked for ways to bless those around him and was generous beyond measure. He felt the pain of those who were in pain and tried his best to encourage and love them. We will miss him but are thankful he is no longer suffering. He is singing with a strong voice in the heavenly choir with all those who have gone before him, worshipping his Saviour for eternity. A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2 PM at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Smiths Falls.
