My heart is truly broken. I met Jim back in 2005 when I worked at Wal Mart. Jim was never shy about sparking up a conversation with anyone and those conversations grew into a great friendship. We had weekly breakfast and lunches. Jim watched my children grow from small children into young adults. He attended my wedding in 2009 and he always told I was the only bride he got to dance with other than at his own wedding. I was able to visit Jim just around the time COVID changed everyone's lives and more recently was able to do a video chat with him. Being five hours away and this COVID crazy world didn't give me the chance to see him more. He is truly a rare gem. I am going to miss him so much. Mr. James Spencer you are loved beyond words. Thank you for the most precious friendship. Until we meet again my dear friend.

Fly with the Angels Jimmy. Jim always had a wonderful smile and laugh. I have known the Spenser family my whole life and lived behind Larry and Mrs Spenser for a short time. I remember Larry and Jimmy visiting us at home in Rosedale... Heartfelt condolences to all of Jimmy's family and friends.

I used to chat with Jim every time he visited the Mall. He always had stories to share. He would light up when he saw Werther's sitting on the desk and I would give him a few extra's to keep him going until the next time he would visit.

My sincere sympathy to all the Spencer families. My brother and I use to walk to Nolan’s Corners School with Jim and his father and ours took turns driving us to High School.

My deepest sympathy Diane , Kay, Sylvia, Tom and all Jim’s Family. I have many memories of Jim growing up in Montague when the Spencer Family were neighbours. My brother Earl and he were buddies and he was at our place a lot. I remember one particular occasion when Jim came along with his “new” car. Earl thought it would be a good idea to hide the car behind the barn. When Jim came out of the house the car was gone! Of course Jim was surprised but not speechless. In the later years when Jim was at Willowdale, I would often see him at the mall and we would have a chat. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Sincerely, Marilyn.

My deepest condolences to your family. I worked with Jimmy at the Rideau Correctional Center for a long time. He was a sweet funny man and brutally honest. He always made my day with his jokes. RIP Jimmy. Heaven will never be the same.

To Jimmy's family...Jimmy was a great guy, so friendly and such a big smile. He came to Keenagers at the Baptist Church and to the OPSEU Retirees meetings while he was able to talk and laugh.
Our sympathy to you, Joyce and Eric Wills

To the Spencer family. Jim was a great friendly ambassador wherever he went. He spoke to every new person or visitor before Church and always had a big Spencer hearty welcome. The same when he was at Willowdale. My girlfriend was shy with few words for most people but Jim’s hearty greeting at every meal made her smile.
I extend my sympathy and prayers to your whole family at this time. Rest In Peace, Jim
