John was a senior Constable in Hamilton when I arrived out of "Depot" in 1972. A serious and committed member who readily guided the stream of recruits that seemed to be arriving from Regina in an almost monthly basis. Always respected him and considered him to be a friend over the time I worked within his orbit which seems just a short time ago. Condolences to his family.

To John's Family:
I just recently learned of John's passing by another friend of John's, Fred Bowen. Like some of the others here who passed on their condolences, I too had the extreme pleasure of working for John at RCMP HQ, 225 Jarvis, Immigration & Passport Section. John saw fit to send me to Toronto Airport Detachment in March of '89 with Joe Show to head up a new I&P Section there, which meant so much to me, as John knew I'd get the job done for him. And, he was right. John was one of the best NCO's I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was a gentleman and a friend to me as he was to so many others. He'll be very much missed.
All the very best to his family.

John and Carol were kind enough to come to my retirement "do" in 2013. I found this lovely photograph of John and Carol and dear friend and ex colleague Earl Dixon.
What a lovely surprise it was that day. Have many happy memories of our time in Niagara ( I left in 1993) He always made sure that the Public Servants were happy as he must have known the repercussions!!! Just kidding! ( I think!)
Very sorry to hear about John and wanted to send my sincere condolences.

Sorry to hear of Johns passing. It’s been many many years, however, Johns father and our mother were first cousins and we own the cottage next to the one they owned. Beverley, David and Margaret (Allen), Bellingham, Joe and Betty’s children and our families.

Carol and family,
I was very sad to learn of Johns recent passing, please accept my sincere condolences.
I was part of Johns team at the Toronto Immigration and Passport Section and under his leadership the Section was second to none in Canada, not only in morale, but also in successfully managing a high volume of major international investigations. During the time John led the Toronto Immigration and Passport Section many and varied challenges were faced and successfully dealt with. John was a good friend and an esteemed colleague, he will be missed, may he rest in peace.
Sincerely
Ian MacDonald

Carol and Family,
Debbie and I were so sorry to hear of John's sudden passing. Carol may God Bless you and your family during this very trying time.
John was a valued friend, mentor and work colleague. I first met and worked with John when he was a senior Constable on the General Investigative Section at Hamilton Detachment in the early 70's, and I was just out of training from the Academy. Later we worked together on the Hamilton Immigration and Passport Section when John was the Corporal in charge of the Unit. I also had the privilege to work with John between 1989 and 1992 on the Toronto Immigration and Passport Section where John was the Staff Sergeant in charge of the Unit. John was a thorough Investigator, a tough Cop, who worked hard and played hard.
For some twenty years John and I, together with Bill Reynolds from the Brantford Unemployment Insurance Commission and Dick Sebring from the United States Border Patrol were a foursome in dozens of golf tournaments both in Canada and the United States. John was a fierce competitor in everything he did. I will sincerely miss you John.
May you rest in peace.

Dear Carol and Family,
I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing. All I did was deliver propane to them this past winter, but I found John and Carol to be the nicest, warmest, and kindest of people. I figured my last delivery there would be my last for the season, and I was hoping to be greeted by the two of them again so I could express to them, in person, that I appreciated their kindness each time I was there. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and I’ll never get the opportunity to tell John of his endearing qualities, but I just wanted you all to know how much I appreciated them. If I deliver again next year I’ll be sure to look up and say “Hi” to John when I’m there.
Rest In Peace John, and may your families memories of you get them through this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Ryan Tucker

It is a difficult time when someone passes. We reflect upon things we should have said, visits we should have made. John’s passing brings all of this to mind but, we have memories of good, fun times when we laughed, joked and said the things to one another that need being said. Farewell John but not goodbye, whenever we gather we will remember you with fondness and respect. Dick and Judy
