Obituary of Keith Bradley Bertrim

Keith Bradley Bertrim (February 8, 1959- June 6, 2022) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the recent passing of Keith Bradley Bertrim in Kingston, Ontario. Born to the late Larry Burns Bertrim and Kathryn May Wiltse (née Kellar). Dad was gone early in our years but Mom would be Keith’s main cheerleader for all his days. They shared a special bond, born out of hard times and mutual admiration. They simply adored each other. Keith will also be missed by his sons Lawrence (Smiths Falls), Bradley (Ashley in Calgary), Kyle (Kingston), their sister Bridget Manahan (Everett in Perth), grandkids Sereniti, Skylar, Lilith, many nieces and nephews and maternal aunts. Keith benefitted greatly from the support by his lifelong friend and mother of his children, Linda Mindle (née Young). Linda is also going to find a good home for his beloved dogs, Daisy-May and Bandit, who have been wondering why their human hasn’t come home. Keith is survived by his siblings Randy Bertrim (Hilary in Fort St. John, BC), Tammy Dopson (Ottawa), Linda Dopson (Truro, NS), Roxane Bertrim (Guay in Bourget). It still doesn’t seem real that we won’t be hearing Keith’s gregarious laugh or bear witness to him swearing a blue streak ever again. Keith loved building and rebuilding engines of all kinds. He repaired his trucks until they couldn’t be any longer. Keith had a passion for racing dragsters and was a fan of vintage chopper motorcycles. He loved history, rock music, classic movies, and a good suspense novel. Keith had a 37 year career at Canadian Pacific Rail out of Smiths Falls that began with shovelling snow off the tracks and made his way to being an engineer. He retired in 2013 but never gave up his love of train locomotives. We would like to thank the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, as well as the ICU and Patient Care at Kingston General Hospital during his final days. The care and compassion was exemplary. A heartfelt thanks to his PSW Erika and his special friend Sylvie for their attention and support of Keith in recent years. The family appreciates you so much. There will be a private graveside service held for his relatives. In lieu of any flowers being sent to the family, we ask that you consider a donation to The Centre For Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH.ca) in memory of our late brother who struggled. We will miss you, bro.
