Obituary of Irene Eleanor Wilson

Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene Eleanor Wilson Our family is truly blessed to have had this wonderful person in our lives for 92 years. On June 26, 2022 Irene made her heavenly voyage to be with her family above. She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Edna Wilson, and her brothers Cecil Wilson (Doreen) and Bruce Wilson (Nancy-deceased). Leaving her sister Grace Andress and many nieces and nephews to cherish her memories, Irene who never married, devoted her love of fun towards her family. Born on September 6, 1930 in Easton’s Corners on the farm which was in the family until 2012, there were many family gatherings for holidays where Irene had fun teasing and being teased by her older siblings and nieces and nephews. After getting her certification as an RNA in 1956, she then worked in various hospitals across Canada on the children’s and surgical wards. Moving to Toronto in 1965, Irene worked as an RNA then shifted gears working for Insurance companies. Irene had many hobbies such as music, sewing, bowling and swimming and enjoyed taking night courses such as interior decorating, music appreciation, small appliances, typing, doll making and her favourite hobby of water colour painting. In 1996, Irene moved home to Smiths Falls where she enjoyed painting, UCW meetings and being closer to her family. We wish to thank the wonderful staff of Rosebridge Manor who became her family during the Covid pandemic. Your care and compassion was a blessing when her biological family were not able to visit with her. A graveside service will take place at Wolford Cemetery on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Smiths Falls District Hospital or Wolford Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home.
