Kinch, Isabell Janet It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much loved Isabell Janet Rafter Davidson Kinch at Maple View Lodge on August 10, 2022 at the age of 99 with her daughter and niece by her side. Isabell was the beloved wife of the late Laird Kinch and first husband the late Douglas Davidson. Dearly missed by her daughter Gwenda Davidson Kinch (Dennis Kilburn). Survived and missed by daughter-in-law Joan Kinch, granddaughter Cynthia Kinch (Matt Patriquin), great grandchildren Brien and Coltan, sisters-in-law Dorothy Rafter, Willa Kinch, Irene Kinch, many nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews as well as extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her cherished son Douglas Davidson Kinch, loving parents Steven and Lilly Rafter, dear brothers Steven (Sonny) Rafter and John (Jack) Rafter. Also predeceased by Wallace (Irene) Kinch, Cecil (Rheta) Kinch, Lloyd (Vera) Kinch, Earl Kinch, Arthur (Ruth) Kinch, Edsel (Jean) Kinch, Orville Kinch, Stanley Davidson, Laura Stafford and Helen Everett. Born in Ottawa, Isabell's family moved to Hamilton where she later worked at Westinghouse, after she was married she lived in Brantford where she began raising her family, then they moved to Smiths Falls where she worked as Food Service Supervisor at St. Francis Hospital and later at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute. Isabell will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. She enjoyed crafts (there wasn't much she couldn't do), visiting and keeping in touch with family and friends, creating amazing treats in her kitchen and working on an extensive record of family history. Special thanks to everyone at Maple View Lodge: "She adored and appreciated all of you, and you took such good care of our precious lady"; to Margaret for your ongoing love and support and to everyone who kept in touch (she really enjoyed and appreciated your cards and visits). Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Maple Vale Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 in Smiths Falls following the interment. The wearing of masks during the visitation period and graveside is mandatory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anglican Parish of Kitley, Maple View Lodge, or The First Baptist Church.
