Sir Daniel, I am so happy to have had the opportunity to chat with you while you were in the Ottawa Heart Institute. I had tried to contact you for over two years since I left Merrickville. You were having a very rough time then and things were not looking so good. I am so sorry that your time was near. Now your earthly pains are all gone and you shall be in ever lasting comfort in the heavens.
You were a sheer delight to be with. Your wit and laughter never waned as we tried to outdo each other on many occasions on the phone and at your home, at many buffets that you organized over the years for your cousins, friends and neighbors. I always looked forward to getting together and being updated with all the news of Merrickville folk.
I will surely miss you Sir Daniel.
