Obituary of Marjorie Louise Bellem

Bellem, Marjorie Louise Marjie passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2023 at the Broadview Long Term Care home in Smiths Falls, Ontario at the age of 97. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Eddie and stepdaughters Carmen (Dale) and Astrid. Marjie also leaves behind grandsons Mike (Amy), Marc (Yvonne), Robert (Aline) and Richard as well as step grandchildren Carrie (Robert), Kaitlynn, Rachel (Brian), Gary (Brenna), Kelly (Shane), Daryl and step step grandchildren Alex and Emily (Paul). Marjie also leaves behind 21 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren, 2 great great great granchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Marjie was predeceased by her parents Archibald and Delilah (Davidson) Davison, sisters Bertha, Frances, Hilda and Hattie and brothers Fred, Llewelyn and Robert. She was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia, stepdaughters Roelina and Regina and grandson John. Marjie was an active, engaging and generous woman who was passionate about gardening, art and travel. After retiring from civil service in Ottawa, she and Eddie moved to Portland where they co-owned a craft store for several years. Together they created a home and gardens that were memorable. Marjie was very involved in the Smiths Falls lawn bowling club and was also immensely supportive of her husband’s other athletic ventures.
