Blundell, Theodore Allan It is with deep heartache that we announce the passing of Theodore “ Ted” Blundell of Hickman’s Harbour, Newfoundland at the age of 68. On March 17, 2023 after courageously battling cancer for the past 14 months, he peacefully passed away on his own terms at home in the arms of his loving wife of 48 years and his 2 adoring daughters. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Tracey (Kevin), and Michelle (Roger). Forever missed by his grandchildren Davis, Riley, Cassidy, Justin, and Tristan. Survived by his siblings; Aubrey (Rosemary), Marie (Ron), Joyce (Jorg), Eileen (Ray), Herb (Johanna), his sisters-in-law; Jenny, Janet, and his brothers-in-law; Roger, and Robert (Joan). Predeceased by his parents Cyril, Ina, and Edna, his parents-in-law Basil and Marion, his brothers Eric and Stewart, his sister-in-law Rose, and his brother-in-law Walter. Fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Ted and his wife Mary moved to Jasper, Ontario 12 years ago to be closer to their daughters and grandson after living in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador for 39 years. Ted worked as a welder at the Iron Ore Company of Canada ( IOCC) for 32 years where he met many of his life long friends. Living every day to the fullest, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, boater and snowmobiler during his time in Labrador. Since moving to Jasper his focus shifted to mainly spending time with his grandchildren. Aside from riding his motorcycle, he enjoyed going to the kids hockey and soccer games, countless rides on the 4 wheeler, backyard fires and boat rides. They were the light of his life. He had a natural ability to MacGyver his way into fixing anything he came across. Always surprising but also impressive. He was a man of many talents. His generosity, humour , selflessness and his love for his family will be forever missed. As per Ted's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held in Newfoundland at a later date. For those who knew and loved Ted, a Celebration Of Life will be held at a dear friends house on Wednesday March 22,2023 from 6-9 pm. 2759 Heatherlyn Crescent, Metcalfe ON K0A 2P0. As expressions of sympathy, donations to charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home. Online condolences available at www.lannin.ca
