Jack was a skilled glazier and carpenter working at Healy's Sash and Door for 17 years before starting Edwards and Strickland Lumber, soon to be Edwards Brothers Lumber, for the next 40 years. Jack, a man of many talents, was as skilled with a chainsaw as he was on the ice playing broomball on one of the many teams through the 60's and 70's. He was also an avid outdoorsman hunting and fishing with his many family members his entire life. Jack always considered himself a simple, honest man content visiting with friends and family, watching his grandchildren grow and quite often dancing with Dorothy (Gert), his wife of 61 years.
