Obituary of Sharon Lee Brundige

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brundige, Sharon Lee 1944 to 2022 It was with immense sadness having had announced the passing of mom, Sharon, in her 78th year at Cottage Hospice in Vancouver on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022. Mom’s passing followed a courageous, two-year battle with cancer. She will be lovingly missed by her four children Scott (Dwayne), Ian (Krikit), Wendy (Jeff), Beth (Bill), her two stepchildren Jeff (Susan) and Dana, cousin Maureen, brothers Billy (Sally) and Bob, and numerous grandchildren and other family members and friends across Canada. Sharon is predeceased by husband, Alvin, and parents, William, and Eileen. Sharon had a long, demanding, and distinguished nursing career at Weeneebayko General Hospital in Moose Factory, Smiths Falls District Hospital in Smiths Falls, Montreal’s Reddy and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, and Kingston’s Hotel Dieu all the while raising a large family. After retiring from nursing, she continued a career in health care administration and nutrition to later move to condominium property management alongside her incredible husband, Alvin. We will miss Sharon’s never-ending sense of positivity and humor, her “Get it done!” attitude, her “I’m fine” approach to life, her deep-rooted sense of family, and her willingness to help anyone with anything at any time. A special thank you to all the doctors and health care staff at the BC Cancer Centre and the Vancouver General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Sharon’s family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Vancouver’s Bloom Group Cottage Hospice for their outstanding commitment and delivery of compassionate care that mom received in her final days. Their dedication to their patients and family members is second to none. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held Sunday, June 4, 2023, at a private home on Sydenham Lake north of Kingston. If interested in attending, please contact Scott Wallace by email at darsaw41@outlook.com. Private interment will be held June 5, 2023. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the charity of your choice, Vancouver’s Bloom Group Cottage Hospice, and/or the Canadian Cancer Society. If roses grow in heaven, Lord, please pick a bunch for me, Place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they are from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. ~~ Love you mom
