My family and I met The Lutes Family as we were both members of Saint Ann’s RC church in Merrickville. When talking to Debbie with a problem or just sharing ,she always saw things through the lens of our beautiful Faith. I always came away from a discussion admiring Debbie’s complete devotion to our Sweet Jesus and His Holy Mother. As is shared in her obituary that her knitting and crochet needles were never far away,it brought me back to such a lovely story.Sadly I developed a condition that brought with it chronic pain. After Mass one day Debbie came over to me and said that she “had a little something for me I opened a box to find a beautiful shawl that she had crocheted for me,”to keep me warm”It was done with such a quiet grace and I will always be grateful for what I now know was a prayer shawl ,which indeed has kept me warm on many an occasion..
May David, Tia,,and Andrew find comfort that Debbie is now with the angels ,with the perpetual light of Christ shining on her forever. With Love and Blessings ,Lise,Rick,Amelia, and Faith Bowes xoxo

Debi was one of my best pals growing together in Montreal. As adults our ways parted in very different directions. When we did occasionally connect or corresponded, our conversations were always meaningful. Debi spoke frankly, and did not suffer fools.
I will miss her.

I have wonderful memories of teaching, laughing and praying with Debi many years ago. Debi was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith and trust in God were always apparent. May she rest in peace.
