Well Jim, we have made so many memories in the last couple of years. I remember the day I met you -- you were sitting in the rocking chair giggling like a school kid because you were about to make a funny. You had me from “Hello, can I see your bank book? I need to make sure you are good enough to date my son". I can’t count how many coffees we drank either waiting for the pizza to be ready on a Friday night or watching a hockey game. Speaking of hockey, could you please talk to the hockey Gods? It would be nice if the Leafs won the cup in the next decade. Remember the time I had to catch my first pigeon? There you were, wearing all your gear, in the coup with me trying to help me corner one with your cane. But I did it and we called her Clara. And remember the time I got you a bird calendar for Christmas? I put a picture of myself in the calendar because I am a “hot chick”. My fondest memory will always be how you, Carol, and Dawn welcomed me into your loving family with open arms and hearts. I couldn’t have picked a better family to be part of. Your unconditional support and love has enriched my life in more ways than I could have imagined. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. My only regret is that our time was cut so short Jim. As we say our final farewell to you, on Friday morning I will release the birds free to fly home. It will be in your honour as you are now free of pain, free of stress and worry, and you too have now found your way home to God. Goodbyes are hard to say, so until we meet again, rest in peace Jim.
