Obituary of Harold George Hellam

Passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 90. Harold will be deeply missed by his wife Joan Bristow (nee Taylor), and his children Julia (John), Jennifer (Boyne), Philip (Dawna), Jackie (Marc), and the Bristow children. Much loved by his grandchildren; the late Crystal, Amber (Nick), Tellen (Nicole), Autumn (Shawn), R.J (Kim), Casey, Craig, Lake and Gage, as well as numurous great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Arthur (Renate), Fred (Raji), and sister Laura. Predeceased by his siblings Mary, Alfred, Stan, David, and Hazel. Harold was a talented singer-songwriter, taking part in operas, barbershop quartets, and many choirs across the country. He spent many years writing music and soloing for the T.V Evangelist Henry Feyerabend, across Canada and the U.S. He received a very special tribute from the Prime Minister Stephen Harper who invited him to sing on Parliament Hill for Canada Day. Apart from his businesses in Kemptville and Merrickville, he enjoyed leading a large 50 person choir including many children. A memorial service will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 333 County Rd 29, Smiths Falls, on the 21st of September at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Sprucedale Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Harold to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
