My dearest sweet Grandpa, we all came together yesterday one last time in honor of your extremely achieved life. With a heavy heart I sat in your chair taking in the smell and scenery one last time. Forever thankful for the unwavering love and support and wisdom you instilled in us all. Truly the one man in my life who i could always count on for a pep talk, a reality check, an understanding ear or a different way to solve that math question. How extremely lucky i have been to call you my grandpa, and all these years that we shared so closely with our inside jokes and long lunches of chatting and laughing are so cherished in my heart. I will be missing you until we meet again my sweet grampa... love you.*puffed out cheek kiss*

Dear Dave, Carol & all family members...I wish I could come up with some really different comforting words that would ease your pain about the loss of your dad, granddad and other family connections. But, I do know , after going through many losses of our loved ones, that there are days when we need someone who is willing to be a good listener, maybe go for a walk in silence with someone who cares enough to just be there, hugs are always good, a good cry is usually always needed, even a good laugh, maybe a friend or nearby neighbour dropping off a salad or casserole when you just don't have it in you to prepare anything, maybe a note to say they are praying, thinking, or crying for you...this is our prayer for all the members of John D. McGibbon's grieving loved ones...that God will reach down with Hugs from Him through some dear soul who is trying to comfort you the best way they know how...that you will have all the time you need for healing tears to soften your heartache...for gentle walks through years of memories...and for God's healing love to fill the empty places with His everlasting hope and peace...With Love & Big Hugs...Pastor Bob & Marilyn Lehmann, Deanna Robertson ( Carol & Dave's sisters & Brother-in-law in PEI)

Mack, Dave and Pam; I am so sad to hear that Uncle John is no longer with you. I hope that you are consoled by all of the wonderful memories that you have. Although I have not been in touch, Mom has kept us abreast of his activities. When she told me the news, I was reminded of the great times in Lachute at Christmas eating too much turkey, at the long table, Calumet racing around the house and of course Louisa. Numerous fonds memories. I Wish you and your families only the best ......... Patti Morton Rossbaum, Collingwood, Ontario ( Peter, Ben 10 & Genevieve 8 )

Hey Dad... It's been a week now since I watched you fade away. Just wanted to thank you for a few things. Thanks for teaching me to: drive, swim, skate, fix cars, paint cars, build a house, do plumbing and wiring, deal with bullies, do basic accounting, deal with difficult situations, keep my mouth shut when appropriate and open it when necessary, and most of the other things I know about life. Thanks for being the strongest and smartest man in the world during my tender formative years, it's nice to have a hero when you're a little kid and you were it. Gonna miss you.

Funny how Louisa figures large in my memories too. Summer holidays hanging out with family - cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. Looking back it seems like a different world and it was. Knowing that there was more than immediate family to turn to was and is comforting. Thank you Uncle John for helping me learn to water ski, being a model of calm and being there. Mack, Dave and Pam - if you make it to Calgary, please remember that Banff is just down the road a bit. Drop in. Thinking of you.

Mack, Dave and Pam, I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Johns passing. I have fond memories of hanging out on the dock at Louisa, swimming and playing in the old Larsen, with Uncle John working on cottage projects like the kitchen, or a boat. I miss those days. If you find yourself in Calgary please call me. Love Janet and Family
