Obituary of Craig Hudson Barton

It is with great sadness that the family of Craig Barton announces his passing on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the age of 74 years. Craig will be missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Anji, sister Elaine (Sam), brother Brian (Sharon), step-daughter Linda (Oscar) and step-grandsons Morgan and Nathan. Craig was predeceased by his beloved wife Ann. He will also be fondly remembered by extended family and many dear friends in Ontario and Florida. Craig was born in Moncton, NB but spent his teenage years in Montreal, graduating from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) with a BSc degree. During this period, he developed a keen passion for the sport of golf, at which he excelled his entire life, winning countless tournaments and even shooting (better than) his age in 2012. Craig also loved the stock market and was an active futures trader for decades. He enjoyed cooking, chess, and spending winters in Florida. He was also a dog lover and enjoyed the companionship of many beloved dogs throughout his life. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at the Smiths Falls District Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care. Interment at Highland Memory Gardens in Toronto followed by a Celebration of Craig’s life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy and in honour of Craig’s love of animals, donations to the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies would be appreciated by the family.
