McILVENNA, 'Jim' : In Ottawa on Monday, 18 January 2010 at age 90. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Johanna. Loving father of Sharon Duby (Doug) and Terence (Julie). Dear grandfather (Poppa) of Samantha Hamre (Steve), Brandy Poisson (Marc) and Adam (Danielle Marshall). Cherished great grandfather (Poppa Jim) of Abbigail, Carter , Isabelle, Olivia, and Gwendolyn. Dear brother to Edward, Donald, Kenneth and Margaret. Pre-deceased by parents Harold and Melissa (Rose), and siblings Mary, George, Jean, Irene and Ross. Jim was a veteran of WW2, serving in Europe from 1939-1945. Upon returning he spent 38 years with the CPR railroad. A life time member of Branch 95, Smiths Falls Legion, Jim served his family, country, and community with pride and devotion. A lifelong fisherman, Jim caught dozens of official trophy size largemouth bass, (according to him). His sense of humour and gentle manner will be missed. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff at R1N of the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre for their warm care, attention and dedication that they provided in the last years of his life. Friends may call at Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Saturday January 23, 2010 from 10AM to 11AM. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 11 AM.
