I never knew his name, he was our rural mailman. I was looking up someone else's obituary and recognized his picture. My condolences to his family. I will miss his friendly chats if I happened to be picking up my mail while he was there. May he rest in peace.

Ray , we had our ups and downs at the good old Smiths Falls Post Office but I would be the first to say that you were a dedicated worker and I appreciated your hard work. You carried these same tributes to your outside interests and through your efforts made life a little easier for the recipients of the rewards of the canvasing done on behalf of Big Brothers and Sisters. Smiths Falls has lost a true down to earth peoples person who always had time for others in his own busy life. Enjoy your 2nd retirement dear friend although I know you will be trying to help someone and make life in heaven better for all.. Rose , Nancy and I send our deepest condolences to you Adrian and Reanne - So sorry for your loss

My memories of Ray are playing cards at Jackies we had so much fun back then, and through the years whenever we would meet up in a store he would pick up the conversation as not a moment went by, always laughing and joking. I am so sorry for your loss, such a big presence in ones life leaves such a large hole behind.

My sympathies to all of his precious family . I must say that he always had a special laugh. He love to pick on people like his cousin when he came down I'm sure that soon he will be singing and playing guitar with many even Bob; and others will be showing him the ropes. Wait for the signs for they are precious. Love you all and take it one day at a time. (p.s. sorry I won't be coming down to see you all ) Love Adele Pitre xxxooo

I loved having visits from Ray (and Rosie!) to the office. He would drop in to check up on us, and to hear how our programs were doing. He was so generous in so many ways. He made a stand for my computer screen with great little drawers to hide keys and treasures in. And of course he was tireless in collecting pledges for Bowl for Kids. People waited for their visit from Ray to pass along their donation. Rest in peace Ray, you will be missed.

I couldn't believe this when I read it. My heart and thoughts goes to the family at this difficult time. He was always there to joke and talk to my dad when I was/was not present. Always had a big wave when we would meet down street. He was always a joker. We missed him as our neighbor when we had to move. God Bless and rest in peace Ray! Sadly missed, Janice and Wilmer White

One funny episode that I shared with my dear friend. Ray was when he came over to my place and ask me to help him empty his pool of water so he could take it down. Ray started taking the bolts out of the above ground pool not realizing that the sides would collapse. It was then that Ray said, " We better run!" as the water was on our heels. Afterwards we both stood on the sidewalk and laughed as the water flowed down the street. Sadly missed, Martin and Linda O'Connor
