It is with great sadness that we announce that Sydney Mortimer passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 20, 2011, at the age of 80. He is predeceased by his parents and three siblings. Sydney lived most of his life at the Rideau Regional Centre in Smith Falls Ontario with many friends and people who cared for him. He moved to Ottawa in August, 2008. His love for people came shining through with his beautiful smile. Special appreciation and thanks to the staff of both Forest Hill long-term care home and Total Communication Environment for their exceptional care, friendship and support to Sydney these past three years. Friends may pay their respects at Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, on Monday July 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
