Peacefully at home with family at her side on Tuesday November 6, 2012. Joan Durant passed away in her 70th year. Predeceased by her parents Edwin Earl Baker and Esther Mae Code. Survived by her beloved husband Alfred Isaac Durant of Smiths Falls. Dear sister of Margaret Kathleen Goodwin (James) of Winchester, Nora Blanche Harper (the late Keith) of Smiths Falls, Gary (Doris); Keith (Judy) both of Winchester and Ray (Loraine) of Alberta. Loving mother of Ellen Darlene Findlay (Paul), Anthony Clay Durant (Tracy) and Timothy Thomas Durant (Cheryl). Cherished grandmother of Phillip, Andrew, Mariah, Robert, Isaac, McKayla, Robert and Amber. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was known for her involvement with senior citizens. Friends May call at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls for visitation from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Friday November 9, 2012. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Bede’s Anglican Church in Nolan’s Corners on Saturday November 10, 2012 at 2:30 PM. Interment St. Bede’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Joan to the St. Bede’s Church would be appreciated.
