Peacefully with his family by his side at Perth Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in his 94th year. Devoted husband to Norma (nee MacPherson). Loving father of Linda (Stan Oglov), Joy (Bob Elkins), Pat (Brett Klappstein), Judy (Doug Hermer), Lee (Donna Laffin), and Randy (Tracey Laffin). Dear grandfather to Rob, Gillian, Hannah, Jason (Heidi), Laura (Brandon), Ruthie, Jessica and Nicole. Loving great-grandfather to Max, Sam, Kate and Travis. Fondly remembered by his sister Verna Seabrooke (late Norman). Predeceased by his parents Jack and Florence Laffin, and his brother Stanley (Irene). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews , relatives and friends. All his life Stirling dealt with cattle and horses, he drew horses and attended horse draws up until the very end, which truly was his passion. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Walsh and the nurses and staff of the Perth & Smiths Falls Hospitals. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Lannin Funeral Home Smiths Falls on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 1 o'clock. a private family interment will take place at the Malakoff Cemetery at a later date.
