There is an old expressionthat sums up Wes"Salt o'the earth".People talk of days gone by where you knew your neighbour and you could always count on them.Wes never let those days be forgotten. As the Gardiner's neighbour for many years( rookies to the country life inthe beginning) I know that my family and I always felt safe .We had a back up plan...Wes.Wes gave from the heart,...nothing expected in return.THANK YOU Wes you remind us that the world is a loving place. And to your family my sympathy at this time for your loss.I honour all of you for carrying on this legacy. It was so nice to reconnect.

One of my fondest memories of my Dad was when I was taken out west and he came and got me. He really did not know what was best but he brought me home. I was then able to go to school with my cousins. If he had not done this for me who knows where I would be now. I will miss him always and I am truly sorry I am unable to be with the family today due to health related matters. Hugs and Kisses to you always Tammy

So sorry to hear of Wes' passing - he was a great support to all of us on Gardiner Road over the years as we raised our families there. We will miss him and our long conversations about the news of the neighborhood. We always knew he was there if we ever needed assistance. The last time we spoke he plowed us out with his tractor as JoAnn needed to get to a meeting in Merrickville and the ice pellets had us snowed in. I called Wes and here was there right away to lend a hand. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and we wish them the very best going forward. Doug, JoAnn, Leif and Aedan Helmer

Our Prayers are with you Aunt Jane. Uncle Wesley was someone who brought a smile when we were able to see him. I'm so sorry that I can't get there to see all of the family. Hugs to Tammy and all the other children. I remember when I was in the hospital at a young age and he walked in with this monkey for me. I couldn't remember what ever happened to it, until Tammy told me. He was a happy person and very thoughtful of others. I am so very proud to say he was my Uncle. He had love for everyone and also loved animals. It takes a big heart to have so much love. His body was tired, God opened his hands to him. It's time to come home. We don't like to know that it's ok and that he will be fine because he is not with us. But in our hearts he will always be with us. Love you Uncle Wesley, you will be in our hearts forever.
