Peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute in the morning of Monday, June 20, 2016 in his 85th year. In the arms of, his loving wife Emily whom he was beautifully married to for almost 60 years, and his beloved daughter Darlene. Cherished companion of his devoted Beagle Miss Suzie. Dear brother of Myrtle (the late Floyd) Brayton, Shirley (the late Tom) Connell, Betty Hendry, Eleanor Westlake and sister-in-law Marilyn Hendry. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Leah Hendry and by his brother George Hendry. John will be fondly remembered by all who knew him; his wife's family, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Maple Vale Cemetery, Smiths Falls.
