Susan,Carol and Brent and families
Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your precious Dad/Grandfather. We have many happy memories over the years due to the close friendship of my Dad and Mom and Betty and George. A lot of funny stories and good times over the years. George was such a kind and gentle man, and will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time , but at the same time such a happy reunion for your Mom and Dad.

George was a warm and gentle uncle.
I am the son of "Jimmy" – one of George's younger brothers.
My impression of George was that he was the quiet, thoughtful, and under stated family leader. He was the type of person who probably provided gentle and sage advice when asked – and people listened.
Like all of the Kinch's in Smiths Falls - we were welcomed with open arms and generosity by George’s family.
Walking into Uncle George and Aunt Betty’s place carried with it the sense of family that is difficult to find. The large country kitchen was a gathering place of people, food, laughter and love. This was also the home of my 3 cousins (Brent, Susan and Carol) who helped my sister Karin and I find our way in life. These “kids” – Carol now almost a Senior Citizen (lol) - were brought up by George and Betty to have a unique combination of intelligence, humour and social grace.
When visiting Granma (Lilly Kinch) in Jasper I recall helping Uncle George mow the school lawn and being honoured to be entrusted as a 10 year old to drive the riding lawn mower. To a city kid – this was like driving a Formula One car. On another occasion he loaned me the family snowmobile so that I could do circles on the Jasper train station parking lot (for 5 days straight) – it was like the X Games to me. George didn’t have to do this – he was just kind!
It saddens me and warms my heart at the same time to extend best wishes from my family to the families of Brent, Susan and Carol. I know these are tough times. But please try to find peace in the memories of your wonderful father/grandfather.
Craig (me), Jimmy, Marion , Karin, Patti, D’Arcy and Matt
