i am so sorry to have just learned of Roys passing,i cannot think of another Railroader and gentileman i could have respected more than Roy,i was fortune to have had him as a trainer engineer.Many nights the phone would ring and i would ask who the "Hogger"was all the while hoping it was Roy. R.I.P Mr.Crate you were well loved by all who knew you.

Our deepest sympathies from the Baker family. Roy was a kind and gentle man and such a wonderful friend to our mother as she waged the complexities of loss of memory while at Willowdale. We enjoyed his many stories and his humour. From our many conversations regarding age I am sure he is where he would wish to be now. He loved his family and spoke of his "boys " often and the joy of being a grand father. May your many warm memories of Roy carry you through this difficult time.

Appreciated the beautiful tribute to Roy from his family.
Roy was not only my Uncle but a friend. We loved him like A brother. He stood up wth me at our wedding back in 1951.
The last time we visited with him was in September.
Praying his family with be comforted with precious memories---
memories of Happy times, of Joyful smiles, of Hearty laughter, of Caring words and for the children those times on their grandfathers knees with all those hugs and kisses.
Praying also that God will be your strength and comfort through these days of treasured memories.
