Edythe Mae Moffatt (nee Taylor) passed away peacefully with her family by her side in her 84th year. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Moffatt. Her son Rod (grandsons Zachary and Oliver). Her daughter Rhonda (pet canine Stella) and her companion Dean Livingston. Fondly remembered by her brothers Clarence (late Jean), Harold (late Melba), and her brother-in-law Bob (late Karen). Dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and close friend of the family Dell Bower. Predeceased by her parents Lemuel Joseph and Mary Frances Taylor (nee Ash) of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland; Her sisters Dorothy (Late Bill) and Verna (late Alec), and sister-in-law late Beverley (late Bill) Dye.
Edythe devoted her life to caring and nurturing her children and of late, her grandchildren, the loves of her life. She was a homemaker. Her love of cooking argured well for her family and many friends. She loved her garden as a source for fresh vegetables. She spent hours searching throughout her many recipes always making and transforming new dishes.
Outside of her home, she was involved as a volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion in Smiths Falls. She loved attending local Bingo and casinos on a frequent basis. She made many friends during her twenty-five years of retirement in Merrickville, Ontario.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff a the Merrickville District Health Centre, Edythe's home-care team, the Smiths Falls and Kemptville Hospitals, the Ottawa Heart Institute, paramedic services (particularly Mitch and Joel), and the Fire Services whose efforts were commendable in light of the day.
Friends may visit at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 12:00pm till the time of the service in the Chapel at 1:00pm. A private graveside interment will take place immediately following the service at the Merrickville Union Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the interment at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 95, Smiths Falls, On. Online condolences available at www.lannin.ca
