Olive Ashby passed away peacefully after a short illness age 88 in the late hours of July 30, 2019, at home in Merrickville.

Olive was a people person, always ready to help others with generous enthusiasm and a laugh that was infectious. An avid and accomplished craftsperson, her teddies have been hugged and loved by both children and adults. From Wales to England and then to Canada, Olive touched many lives as someone who cared passionately for fairness while celebrating the joys of everyday life.

Olive’s openness ensured she had countless friends regardless of age or background, maintaining some friendships for over 70 years. She was dedicated to her family, supportive of all their endeavours and cherishing their time and talents.

Olive was a sweetheart who filled hearts with joy.  She will be truly missed.
