Betty and John Muir and family were our next door neighbours and dear friends on Lansdowne Ave in Smiths Falls. Betty and I were very close.I was always visiting and borrowing tools and nuts and bolts when I was a little guy.
Betty told me a story when I came to visit her after many years....
I was about about 5 or 6 years old...I knocked on the door and Betty answered and looked down at me and said "Hi Paul, how are you today?' I said "Good Betty...may I borrow your hammer?" She said "You borrowed my hammer yesterday and you didn't bring it back" I said.."Ok then ..thanks Betty".. and away I went.
Betty had such a great sense of humour... she was so good to me as I grew up. I will always have fond memories. Rest in Peace Betty.I will always wear a smile when I think of you.
