Elizabeth “Betty” Joan Lucie Muir (nee Drinkwater) In her 93rd year, Betty passed peacefully at Lanark Lodge, Perth, Ontario. Many thanks to nurse Alma, who was with Betty in her final moments. The staff were wonderful and Dr. Taylor Ferrier’s kindness will be remembered. Betty was born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, but, spent most of her childhood in Smiths Falls. Betty’s favourite past-time was visiting with friends. It didn’t matter what Betty was doing, if you stopped by, you were always welcome and there was always lots of chocolate and laughs. Betty enjoyed sharing her hope of a resurrection in Jehovah’s ‘new system’, John 5: 28, 29. Betty is survived by her daughters, Ann (Jim) Darou of Perth, Susan (late Paul) Stansel of Smiths Falls, Lori and Linda Muir of Smiths Falls; son Allan (Lyndie) Muir of Panama; sister Eileen Norma (late Don) Reid of Orillia; grand-sons Steven Darou, and Shawn and Andrew Stansel; nephews Douglas (Linda) Reid of Calgary, David Reid of Orillia, George (late Elaine) Carr of Nebraska, Greg Carr of Dallas, Texas, and William J. (Stacey) Crate of Mississauga; niece Diane (Steve) Hull of Smiths Falls; grand-nephews Christopher and Matthew Reid, Jonathan (Cynthia) Hull, and Douglas Carr; grand-nieces Kimberley (Chris) Van Zeyl, Emily (Scott Brittain) Crate, Amanda Carr and Dawn Reid.
