Peacefully at home on May 24, 2021, in his 86th year. Predeaced by his late wife Phyllis Strickland (Rodgers). Loving father to Patsy (Wally) Teal, Rick (Krista) Strickland , Dan Strickland and Heather (Robin) Steacy. Cherished grandfather to Tanya, Cory, Tasha (Archie), Marissa, Taylor, Dalton and Riedan. Great-grandfather to William, Alicia, Dawson, Cadence, Luke, Zackary and Bobby. He will be missed by all his nieces and nephews. Dear brother to Abby (Shirley) Strickland, Vera (Stan) Haskins, Stanley (Lois) Strickland, David (Sandi) Strickland, Lois Strickland, Glen Strickland (Kim). Predeaced by his parents Jim and Nellie Strickland and his sisters Yvonne (Donny) Moore, Faye ( Bob) Clark.
A special thanks to all the home care workers who have helped support Ernie over the last couple of years.
To Les Cameron for the morning coffees and the many visits , you were always looking out for him and to your loving wife Nancy for driving Ernie to all his appointments and making sure the family knew what was going on with his health.
To Kate Pommerville for all your support before, during and after his passing. Thank you for the home cooked meals you made, for always taking care of his apartment and being a friend.
To Howard Clark you have always been his best friend. You have stuck beside him through all the good and bad time, and we all know that was not easy. We love and appreciate everything you have done for him over the years.
