Dear Gallipeau Family,
On behalf of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, I want to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Joe. Joe served on our Board for four years representing the Town of Smiths Falls and in that time he shared his knowledge, passion and leadership with us. I know he will also be remembered by staff and members for his friendliness and sense of humour which we enjoyed! We were saddened to learn recently of his passing, but glad we got an opportunity to know him.
Sincerely,

Joe supported the Canadian Tai Chi Academy in the Gallipeau Centre by renting us space to learn and practice Tai Chi for health. For a nominal sum he provided us generous spaces in the ballrooms when they were not in use for other purposes. He allowed us storage space and had bars installed on one of the walls, used extensively in tai chi.. Through his generosity, many benefited locally, but also from surrounding areas: Ottawa, Perth, Merrickville, Kemptville, and many small villages and farming communities. Thank you Joe on behalf of the Canadian Tai Chi Academy.

Dear Joe,
Many laughs we had, many birthdays we celebrated at the River Ranch Resort. Many special dinners we shared together at the Ocean Grill near the ocean in Vero Beach, many roads we travelled in our motorhomes through the 81 and the 95 to Florida and back. Many trips we took in Canada & abroad. Remember the Rocky Mountaineer train from BC to Alberta, the camping days spent with French Canadian friends in New Brunswick, the European Tour, the Greek Islands, the Prague to Paris trek; and what about that special taxi ride with Jean-Louis, which took both of you from Paris to the beaches of Normandy, and let’s not forget the cruises on the oceans & rivers. Joe, you always appreciated the sites and the scenery, even when the comments & details were only offered in French!
So many memorable days spent with you and Diane, outings that we will never forget, we miss you already. Our thoughts are with the whole family, Diane, Tracy, Todd and the grandkids. Our most sincere condolences to all of you.
Claire & Jean-Louis Diamond, Vankleek Hill, ON.
