We were saddened to learn of Floyd's passing and express our sincere sympathy to Shauna and Robin, as well as other close family and friends. Floyd will be remembered as a caring father, dedicated Firefighter, health and safety pioneer and well known community volunteer who wore many hats, one of which he took great pride in, as it affected happiness in children in a very postive way, around Christmas time each year. He will be missed by us all. God Bless.

To The family of Mr.Floyd Darling. On behalf of " Laws " please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of a wonderful man. Floyd gave of himself to numerous community evnets, and Laws was so priviliged to have been choosen as one of them. We shared our Special Santa with the many little four legged furry friends who graced Santa's lap to have their picture taken for our Santa Paws Christmas Fundraiser which was held in November 2009. Floyd with his kindness and gentle way made each and every animal feel safe and secure . Floyd, your star will always be shinning brightly. Thank You Linda Bell Laws Board Member.

When my mother, Sheila Coombs died in November 2003, Floyd and Linda came to the visitation. It was such a treat to see them both. I told the story how the Darlings used to live behind us and Floyd, my age, was my playmate. When we were five around Christmas time, Floyd invented a new game. He was Santa Claus and I had to sit on his lap and tell him what I wanted for Christmas. When I got positioned he promptly kissed me. It was my first kiss! Later in the day I picked up a copy of the Smithd Falls Record News (Wednesday, November 26, 2003) and lo and behold on the front page there was a story and a photo of Santa. It was none other than Floyd. I saved the paper and I will treasure it more. I am so sorry to hear that he passed away. You have my deepest sympathy. I now live in Long Beach CA.

Our dearest Santa has gone to be with God... how wonderful for Heaven, but how devastating for us here. Shauna and Robin, I'm very sorry for your loss and the grief and changes you will be going through. I really liked your Dad - he was just always a smiling loving face, and he loved you both so very, very much! He was very proud of his daughters!! Getting this news has come as a real shock to me. Truly, our prayers are with you. - Shelley, Todd and Josef

Shauna & Robin, My deepest condolences to you both. I knew your dad, while he was retired, and he was always such a productive fellow, lending a helping hand to neighbors; driving people around to medical appointments; when they couldn't get there themselves; playing Santa Claus, and generally brightening everybody's day when he made contact. He was a contributor to the community, a fellow you could count on, and will be sadly missed. He thought the world of you girls.
